Last week, World of Beer in Plano hosted "Revolver Brewing Pint Night", where they offered a variety of beers from Revolver Brewing on tap. To be honest, I'm not a huge beer drinker, but when I do, Revolver Blood & Honey is one of my top picks. Naturally, I could not pass up this opportunity!
This was my first time at World of Beer, and I was pleasantly surprised. They have a HUGE selection of beers, both draft and bottled, and the waiters are super knowledgable about them all. If you're new to beer like me, this is the place for you. I told them what I liked and what I disliked, and they were able to suggest one that suited my taste. I highly recommend the Samuel Smith Organic Chocolate Stout. Don't let the word "chocolate" in the name scare you away. I was a little skeptical at first, but it was delicious! The chocolate flavor wasn't too strong and neither was the alcohol flavor. This beer perfectly combines beer and chocolate into one.
As far as food goes... World of Beer exceeded all my expectations. We dined during their happy hour (Monday-Friday, 3-7pm), so we decided to try out a few different plates from the happy hour menu. As pictured below, we got the Chipotle BBQ Chicken Flatbread, the Black & Blue Flatbread, the Sriracha Lime Shrimp Tacos, and the Mac & Cheese. I may be impartial because I love bacon, but the Mac & Cheese was one of my favorites. The bacon bits and bread crumbs layered on top gave the traditional Mac & Cheese that extra kick of flavor and texture.
If you missed out on this event, no worries! There are four locations in the DFW area: Dallas, Plano, Arlington, and Ft. Worth.
If you're interested in Revolver Brewing, their brewery is located a little outside Ft. Worth in Granbury, and they host tours every Saturday for only $10! Check out their website for more details.
