Today, I'm going to be sharing one of my favorite spots for quick and delicious Chinese food. I discovered this spot a couple years ago, and I will say that their food never gets old. I probably crave for their Wontons in Chili Sauce every other week.
I am obsessed with the chili sauce the wontons are drenched in. It is perfectly acidic and tart with a touch of spice. I also like their Hot Spicy Beef Noodle Soup.
Not too long ago, they announced that they will be opening an actual storefront not to far from their current location in April 2016, which I am ecstatic about! It'll definitely help with the horrible seating situation they have going on at the moment after their rooftop seating was shut down. (They have a few tables around back now, or you can grab a seat in front of the stand or by a nearby bench, if you're lucky.) They will also have more regular store hours. They're typically only open during lunch time except for Thursday through Saturday when they open again for dinner.
For now, before their storefront officially opens, I recommend stopping by Rocket Fizz on your way over to MKN and picking up a bottle of pop to sip on with your meal. (They are right down the street from each other.)
They have a huge variety of soda pops to choose from. It took me forever to go through their selection, but I settled with the Olde Brooklyn Ginger Ale. Does anyone have any suggestions for next time? Comment below!
And while you're there, you might as well pick up a few pieces of candy for dessert! They carry almost every flavor of taffy imaginable plus other sweet treats that you can't find just anywhere.
This makes for a great afternoon trip in Deep Ellum for over the weekend or even during your lunch break.
