Meet Jack & Kay from CrushCraft + GIVEAWAY

CrushCraft is a Thai street-style eatery, located right in the heart of Uptown. Next month will be their two-year anniversary, and they are hotter than ever! We sat down with Jack (owner) and Kay (head chef) this past weekend to get the scoop behind this one-of-a-kind Thai restaurant. (And when I say "one-of-a-kind" I truly mean it! Jack searched nationwide, and he can attest to the fact that there is nothing similar to CrushCraft.)

This hotspot has a reputation for having some of the most tongue-burning and eye-watering Thai dishes in town. Jack explained to me that it is not intentional! They strive to deliver affordable, good, and authentic Thai street food, and it's all part of the experience. Each Thai chili is different - some may be extremely hot, while others may not be hot at all. Every batch will vary to some degree, but Thai food is meant to be spicy. If they try to lessen the spice level just a little when the chilies have an extra strong kick, it will take away from the true flavors of the dish.

Kay recommends the Pad Thai at CrushCraft. It's not only her favorite dish to make, but her favorite dish to eat on the menu! But if you're up to the challenge, take a chance on the Green Curry. A word of caution though - it is EXTREMELY spicy. That being said, people will suffer through all the sweat and tears just to eat the delicious curry. It is one of their most popular menu options, selling about 50-60 gallons per week!

Our personal favorites include the Kra-Pao and the Gang Panang Neau. Not only are they tasty, but they're easy on those of us who can't handle spicy food.
