Sundown at Granada

So here's the 4-1-1 on Sundown at Granada. Organic, Non-GMO, farm-to-table - everything you've heard is true! From free-range chickens to fresh herbs from their 600 square foot garden, the owners and chef are dedicated to providing the freshest ingredients that are good for you and your health.

I had the pleasure of previewing their NEW winter menu last night, and I was taken aback by how delicious everything was. When I hear gluten free or vegan, I immediately prepare for tasteless and dry food, but our meal was neither!

Continue scrolling down to see what was on the menu and my top picks last night!

Loaded Avocadoes - Southwest, Italian, and Waldorf
The ingredients were noticeably fresh in this dish. It's light and definitely a healthy option. My personal favorite was the Italian.
Chicken & Andouille Sausage Gumbo
This dish is completely gluten free, right down to the roux (they use rice flour)! It was so good - I wouldn't have guessed that it was gluten free.
New Orleans BBQ Shrimp
Chef Jason is actually originally from NOLA, so you know this dish is on point. The shrimp is atop cheddar (blue) grits with a side of bacon braised kale. YUM! If I could only choose one course off the menu, this would be it.
Texas Ranch
The last course of the night! And all I have to say is... the Akaushi Brisket amazing. They cook it for 12 hours, using Shiner bock, so it basically melts in your mouth.
Vegan Cake Brownie
What... a vegan brownie and dulce de leche ice cream? I don't know how they did it, but it was amazing! I highly recommend it!
Vegan Gluten-Free Apple Crumble
What a great end to a wonderful tasting. If you're not into brownies and are feeling something a little more fruity, this has your name written all over it!
As for cocktails, try the Pisco Power! It's their take on the Pisco Sour, and I thought they did a good job.

Did I mention they also have live music? Almost every night of the week, you'll get to sample sounds from a variety of bands while you dine. And most times, it's absolutely free!

Take a gander at their menu here.
