Happy Friday! For those of you who may not know, January 8 is Elvis' birthday! In honor of the King of Rock 'N Roll, Velvet Taco's WTF taco of the week is the Velvet Elvis 2.0!
Let me be the first to tell you, this is no ordinary taco! The Velvet Elvis 2.0 (the center taco pictured above) consists of a warm flour tortilla, lined with house made peanut butter, sweetened with local TX honey, layered with fried banana, nutella, peppered bacon, house made blackberry jam, chopped peanuts and chiffonade mint!
Now, I know what you're thinking, "Bacon mixed with Nutella? Are you crazy?!" I had the same doubts about this new taco too, but it's surprisingly amazing! Hats off to the head chef of Velvet Taco and mastermind behind this delectable treat, John Franke!
If you've never been to Velvet Taco, two tacos is more than enough (and if you'll notice below, I ordered three tacos AND the rotisserie corn). I can't say I regret ordering all the food though because everything was on point!
Along with the Elvis taco, I got the # 3 Crispy Tikka Chicken (*caution, this one's spicy!) and the #12 A Bar N Wagyu Brisket, both of which I highly recommend.
I haven't had a lot of elote-styled corn in my day, but I really enjoyed theirs. They use fresh corn rather than canned, which is a major bonus in my book. You can even see the roast marks!
Stop by the Velvet Taco location in Dallas, TX before Sunday, January 17 to try their newest taco!
