R Bar & Grill + New Summer Items

Behold! We have found the perfect post-Six Flags or pre-Rangers game restaurant, y'all!

R Bar & Grill is located at the Hilton off Lamar, within minutes of all of these Arlington destinations, so whether you're going to a concert at AT&T Stadium or heading over to the ballpark for some baseball, this might just be the place to stop by beforehand.


You may be thinking, "Wait, this restaurant is attached to a hotel?" Believe me, I completely get your hesitation. We don't normally associate a hotel restaurant with good food, but R Bar definitely proved to be the exception, thanks to Executive Chef Marcelo Vasquez. The Chilean native has developed a menu that elegantly transforms Southern foods.


To start us off while we decided on what to order, we were given some jalapeno cheddar bread slices with an olive oil based dipping sauce. Trust us, you'll probably down all of this before making a decision, partially because there are so many enticing options and partially because this bread is just that addicting.


Here is what we ended up ordering:


Appetizers

Wild Boar Chili - fried egg, arugula, and creme fraiche
We opted out of the creme fraiche due to dietary restrictions, but it was still tasty. What a nice touch with the egg! One of us was a huge, huge fan.
Jumbo Blackened Scallops - jalapeno cheddar grits, watercress citrus salad, chive oil
Highly, HIGHLY recommend this appetizer! Although, I wished there were more scallop on the plate, the jalapeno cheddar grits are absolutely divine, which is surprising because I've never really been a fan of grits. I also loved the lightness that the watercress added. Overall, everything balanced and worked extremely well together. I wouldn't mind eating this multiple times a week.
Entrees


Durango Tacos - pulled pork, grilled pineapple, garlic mojo, cotija cheese, pickled onion 
Lobster Club Sandwich - jalapeno cheddar bread, smoked bacon, tomatoes, watercress, havarti cheese, lemon garlic aioli
If there's one thing you have to try, THIS IS IT! All the layers mesh flawlessly to create an indescribable burst of flavors.

BBQ Brisket Sliders - House smoked brisket, caramelized onions, bleu cheese, Texas bbq sauce
Chili Peach Cobbler
We requested our dessert be "deconstructed" to avoid dairy contamination! We loved the chili powder added to the peaches - creative and tasty!
Our final thoughts: R Bar completely exceeded our expectations. A great place to go if you're in the area!

Spinach & Strawberry Salad – Fresh strawberries, feta cheese, diced cucumbers, roasted almonds, tossed in a lemon poppy seed dressing
Italian Salad – Salami, pepperoni, mozzarella cheese, pepperoncini, tomato, fresh basil, lightly coated in a balsamic vinaigrette
Grilled B.L.T.C. Sandwich – Jalapeño cheddar bread, smoked bacon, tomato, lettuce and cheddar cheese
Lobster Club Sandwich – Jalapeño cheddar bread, filled with lobster, smoked bacon, tomatoes, citrus watercress, Havarti cheese and lemon garlic aioli
 Fried Chicken Wrap – Romaine, tomatoes, mixed cheeses, smokey tomato ranch and avocado
Mediterranean style pizza – Kalamata olives, feta cheese, tomatoes, capers, mixed cheeses, artichoke, basil and tomato
