Rex's Seafood at the Market

The Dallas Farmer's Market has a special place in my heart. It has such a fun and light atmosphere. I love visiting on the weekends for a bite to eat before strolling through The Shed to see what our local businesses are up to!

This past weekend, I dined at Rex's Seafood, located just to your left as you walk in through the main entrance of The Market. Scroll on down to see what I ordered and hear my thoughts. I've also included some killer happy hour deals below!

I started my meal with the Crawfish Hushpuppies. This is a must-try.

These hushpuppies are crisp, fluffy, and packed with flavor! Served alongside a chipotle raspberry sauce and tartar sauce, Rex's adds its own flair to a southern classic. While I enjoyed the creative aspect of the chipotle raspberry, I personally preferred the tartar sauce. It offered a more refreshing bite to the hushpuppies.

I ordered off the specials menu for my entree - the Mon Chong, with a side of sweet potato fries and mixed veggies. (All classic dishes come with two sides of your choice.) This was my first time trying this type of fish. Not sure what to expect, I found that it had a moderate flavor (not too fishy) and a firm texture. The lemon butter sauce was the perfect combination to elevate the natural flavors of the fish. As for the sides, I was completely satisfied with my choices. The fries were extra crispy just as I like, and the mixed veggies had almost an asian flavor to it. I only wished that more came with the entree.

They also have some great happy hour specials that run Monday through Friday from 4-6pm.
