Staycation at the Magnolia Hotel

If you follow us on our Instagram story, you may have caught little snippets of our "staycation" at the Magnolia Hotel in Downtown Dallas a couple weekends ago.

Both of us had been drained from life. Between work and other obligations, we were more than ready for a day full of rest and relaxation, and being in Dallas, we had plenty of options to choose from. Lucky for us, we found this little gem in the heart of our city - right off of Commerce street! What attracted us most about the Magnolia was, not only the central location, but the history of the building. Built in 1921, the building was the first skyscraper in Dallas at 400 feet-high, and the first skyscraper in the United States to have air condition!

Also not to be overlooked about the location is the free shuttle that will take you anywhere within a 3 mile radius (that's Uptown, Fair Park, Convention Center, and more)! There are tons of sites and restaurants within close proximity to the property, so this is a major plus!

We checked into our historic floor suite in the late afternoon and were surprised to find how homey the room was. The suite was fully equipped with a fully furnished kitchen, living room, dining room, and a separate bedroom!

First thing on our to do list? Head for the comfiest of beds. We poured ourselves some hot coffee and dove feet first into the luxurious sheets. We both could not remember the last time we sat in one place to just relax. It was incredible to say the least.

Best part was, we had this stellar view to gaze at the entire day!

And of course, any staycation isn't complete without a bottle of wine and cheese plate!

After relaxing in our suite, we headed downstairs for the complimentary evening reception a.k.a. free domestic beers and wine! They also have nightly bedtime milk and cookies! We definitely spent our evening indulging because there's no such thing as dieting on vacation, am I right?

Aside from all the amenities the Magnolia offers, the building itself is just stunning - inside and out. This Dallas Historic Landmark has been beautifully preserved and is as they describe it, "upscale, modern meets historic, urban architecture."

It was really hard to say goodbye, but I think we could both safely say that we felt 100% rejuvenated and were ready to jump back into the daily grind on Monday.

Whether it's your staycation or a friend's vacation, definitely consider the Magnolia Hotel. Click here to learn more.
