Ten Ramen

After hearing all the buzz about the ramen at Tei-An, I rushed over to Ten Ramen as soon as I heard the owner of the well-known Dallas restaurant opened up the specialty ramen shop.

The shop is located in the Sylvan Thirty development. It's a bit hidden, but it's right across from Cox Farms Market and right under Sync Yoga.

As soon as you walk in, you'll feel like you've been transported to Japan. The wood accents and the standing-only bar that peers into the kitchen creates an atmosphere of an authentic ramen bar in the city of this dish's native country.

To your left, you'll find a couple of touchscreens where you'll place your order. There are a number of different options to choose from:

Ramen Bowls
Tonkatsu
Shoyu
Spicy Lobster Miso
Pork Maze-Men

Rice Bowls
Chashu-Don
Buta Soboro

Starter
Tsunami

While the selection is limited, it's all I could've asked for at a ramen shop.

I went with the Tonkatsu, and it was hands down the best ramen I've had in Dallas to date! It's been a long search for a decent ramen joint, and alas, I've found it! For me, the most important component of a good bowl of ramen is the broth, and y'all... their broth is incredible - it has the perfect flavor and is not too salty (a problem I've run into at most other places in town).

With the cold front that just blew in this weekend, a hot bowl of ramen is exactly what we all need! Am I right?
