Whiskey Cake

There is no doubt that Whiskey Cake has an amazing brunch, but I always wondered about their dinner. It wasn't until recently that I was able to finally put those thoughts to rest!

My choice in cocktail is not typically an Old Fashioned, but I would 100% reorder this drink without a second thought. Besides the fact that I'm pretty sure two of these could do me in easily, the sweetness was a perfect balance against the whiskey. Maybe it's the orange that gives it that sweet taste?

The Local Board is sourced locally! The jalapeno sausage and chunk of fresh honey comb were my favorite parts of this board.

Guys! I was able to eat the Local Goat Cheese Fondue and was ecstatic! I had heard that goat cheese was safe for the lactose intolerant, and I was so glad to find this to be true. It was so delicious. I'm not sure what else to say other than, order this! I promise you won't be disappointed.

So typically these veggies are made with butter, but the staff so nicely made it with oil so that I could enjoy them for myself. I wanted to order two more plates, these veggies were cooked to perfection!

I ordered the Crispy Atlantic Cod for my entree and man-oh-man was it filling. Topped with chayote & jicama slaw and a zesty tartar sauce (might get this on the side if you're sensitive to spice), the sandwich was equal amounts crunch and soft. I suggest cutting this guy in half for a little less mess - no promises though.

Alright, so the Mesquite Grilled Mussels were drowning in smoked chili butter... but everyone at my table who got to enjoy them raved on and on about how well done they were. Perfect as an appetizer, but plenty to fill you up as an entree as well.

Raise of hands if you think I cried when I realized I couldn't eat the Beer-imasu. This scratch recipe dessert looked like heaven, and from how quickly this plate was cleared, it must have tasted like heaven too. Just remember, don't breathe in too much or else you may cough up some cocoa.
