Each month, we join Blog and Brunch DFW for brunch, and last month we dined at Sixty Vines in Plano.
Sixty Vines believes that "great wine and great food go hand-in-hand," and we definitely agree. With 60 wines available by the glass (yeah, that's right SIXTY), they have the perfect wine to pair with your meal and your palate. Oh, and did we mention there are 41 on tap? Because they not only care about helping you find your wine, but Sixty Vines is also a friend to the environment. Can you imagine all the bottles they would go through in a day if otherwise?! We're talking mounds and mounds of bottles, so I'm a huge fan of the concept of having wine on tap.
Along with their expansive selection of wines, the beverage menu also includes a variety of your classics such as a Bloody Mary, but with a wine/beer twist. The Bloody GruV consists of your classic tomato juice, but rather than vodka, they use wine! It surprisingly works so well!
Starting our meal off strong, we had a few Shared Plates:
Sticky Buns - gooey cinnamon-walnut rolls with a hint of orange. My favorite of the entire meal! That zesty orange flavor adds a magical touch.
Crispy Zucchini - tapioca dusted, pappadew peppers, cilantro, topped with an addicting sweet chili vinaigrette. Though off the shared plates menu, I wanted these all to myself.
On to some Mains:
Butcher's Brunch Pizza- san marzano tomato sauce, soppressata, porsciutto, calabrese, provalone, mozzarella, sunny side up local egg.
Avocado Eggs Benedict - toasted sea salt ciabatta, avocado smash, free range eggs, togarashi hollandaise, fruit.
Angel Food French Toast - verjus maple syrup, seasonal berries, whipped cream. The most heavenly, fluffy french toast there ever was.
The CAB Brunch Burger - cabarnet smothered local akaushi patty, sunny free range egg, everything bun, raclette cheese, caramelized onions, worcestershire mayo, tomato with a side of duck fat potatoes. The juiciest and most flavorful burger. DE-licious.
Lemon Roasted Chicken - oregano-chive rubbed half bird, garlic & chili rabe, hen jus, grilled lemon.
And for Dessert:
Deviled Affogato - devil's food cake, salted caramel ice cream, coffee caramel, nitro cold brew coffee shot. Pour on the shot of coffee and enjoy the rich combination of chocolate and salted caramel ice cream. It's a huge contrast of flavor that come together perfectly.
Moscato Creme & Berries - lemon-moscato posset, local berry gelee, grapeseed flour biscotti. Wine lovers will swoon over this moscato dessert.
While our photos highlight the beautifully delicious brunch menu, I have to make note of the space. As soon as you step inside, you can't help but notice the airy and refreshing atmosphere. It's truly breathtaking. Not to mention their outdoor conservatory that will make you feel as though you've been transported to Italy.
Sixty Vines is quite the destination for all wine and food lovers and is sure to fit any occasion.
Thank you Sixty Vines for hosting us and Blog and Brunch DFW. As always, all thoughts and opinions are our own.
