Gyu-Kaku

I recently was lucky enough to try the many dishes featured in Gyu-Kaku's Annual Summer BBGyu Festival. With tons of their favorite Japanese BBQ options on the table, I was so focused on eating I got few photos of the dinner... I think that's a pretty good problem to have.

Gyu-Kaku Salad
Spicy Tuna Volcano
Don't look past these starters just to get on to the huge selections of meat.  The Spicy Tuna Volcano has wonderful savory flavors and looks quite different from the typical sushi with what we lovingly referred to as the rice tater tot on bottom.

Fried Chicken Karaage
These chicken wings are the thing of dreams with their crispy skin that lasted even after they had been soaking in their sauce.
What I didn't get a snap of was the Sukiyaki Bibimbap (a fried rice type dish) and the Garlic Noodles. Reason? I was too busy shoveling it on my plate. I practically stole all the leftovers for my self when the night was all over.

Kalbi Short Rib
Here's the honest truth. I became so overwhelmed by the quantity and quality of the meat that I forgot I had a camera and just went crazy cooking our BBQ. I severely over ate and it was 140% worth it, y'all. The experience of cooking the meal with my fellow bloggers is one I wont soon forget. It gave us time to catch up and made for some great laughs when we forgot to set a timer.

Lady M's Green Tea Mille Crepe
Can't say I've seen a lot of dessert's such a vibrant green color, but it was the perfect end to the night. The best blend of a crepe and a cake, this dessert's rich flavor is sure to satisfy every taste bud! But if it looks a little out of your comfort zone, you can always get an order (or two) of s'mores for the table. So grab your family and friends and head to Gyu-Kaku for an amazing meal and memories to last a lifetime.
